ABOUT

WHY?

SBC was created in response to a lack of systems and services available to individuals who had complex behavioral needs. Individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities who also have mental health diagnoses (referred to as co-occurring diagnosis), find it hard to access adequate supports. Siloed systems, lack of trained professionals, lack of funding and lack of understanding present as barriers to comprehensive service delivery for this population.

SBC seeks to promote synergism amongst professionals, systems and caregivers to support individuals with co-occurring intellectual developmental disabilities and co-occurring behavioral health means.

WHAT MAKES SBC UNIQUE?

SBC understands individuals with co-occurring diagnoses can have complex needs and take a targeted approach.
